Look at an age pyramid. A large cohort of immature to barely mature individuals signals a rise in population is coming. Conversely, few young individuals signals a decrease in population. You do have to interpret the pyramid in light of the survivership cirve. Some animals have high mortality in the early stages and low later. Others, more even mortality. Still others die mostly after reproduction.

what is the future trends projected for the sports related movies. What opportunities for growth exist? What challenges will the segment face in the future? How will these opportunities and challenges shape the segment in the future?

My favorites of sports related movies were long ago in the 80′s & 90′s. I liked the one about a bicycle race & one about the women’s WWII major league baseball teams that were recruited when the men were off to war. Madonna were both in that latter movie that I remember, & they did a great job. My mom & I went to the theater & saw it together one summer when I was visiting her for a week, & we both enjoyed it in spite of the generation gap.

Now there’s a new movie out about a baseball team organized with Mexican players, down in Mexico, I think. It was recently reviewed in our newspaper & sounded pretty good.

So, it may be that both well-known people surprisingly in a sports movie with a bit of history involved (like the horse race one) or a movie involving a surprising group, such as women or Mexican, would both be hot. Or better yet, think of something else that would give an interesting twist. Artistic animation? I don’t know about that. Broadway musical with a sports theme then turned into a movie? Perhaps a winner if the live theatre folks went for it.

How about a volleyball team training on the beach for summer Olympics?
