Google Trends is a handy little site, it shows what people are searching for on Google, and where they are searching from. I have been doing a lot of research into the connection between self-righteousness and a guilty conscience. I can’t say that what I found with Google Trends surprised me in the least, but it may surprise you. It is the result of the compilation of searches for three types of porn often associated with each other. The argument being that if we allow gay marriage, that we’ll also eventually be debating incestual marriage, animal marriage and other such marriages in the future. Now, I would think that a search with Google Trends would reveal where the biggest interest in such topics are-hence the areas where the most prevalent of these types of sexual preferences/fetishes occur. The theory goes that the more people in a region are interested in a certain thing, the more prone they are to search for it online. For instance, I live in Waco, Texas-and a Google Trends result for “Who is the new mayor of Waco?” would undoubtedly reveal that to no one’s surprise, Waco easily tops the list of said results for search inquiries. I think this is a relatively sound theory and needs no further explaining.

Anyway, here are the results of the three types of porn and where it is searched for the most, from top to bottom in regards to the United States-

Gay Porn-
1. Florida
2. Louisiana
3. Texas
4. Kentucky
5. New York
6. Ohio
7. North Carolina
8. Pennsylvania
9. New Jersey
10. Missouri

http://www.google.com/trends?q=gay+porn&ctab=0&geo=us&geor=all&date=all&sort=0

Incest Porn-
1. Kentucky
2. Oklahoma
3. Kansas
4. Missouri
5. Ohio
6. Louisiana
7. Nevada
8. Tennessee
9. Indiana
10. South Carolina

http://www.google.com/trends?q=incest+porn&ctab=0&geo=us&geor=all&date=all&sort=0

Animal Porn-
1. Louisiana
2. Kentucky
3. Florida
4. Alabama
5. Kansas
6. South Carolina
7. North Carolina
8. Nevada
9. Tennessee
10. Ohio

http://www.google.com/trends?q=animal+porn&ctab=0&geo=us&geor=all&date=all&sort=0

I can’t help but think that in all three cases these states tend to have the biggest opponents to these types of sexual preferences/fetishes, yet it is from this very region of the United States that we see the largest search volume for exactly that type of porn.

Is Google Trends-an automated site-bias? What say you?
“Man would fain be great and sees that he is little; would fain be happy and sees that his is miserable; would fain be perfect and sees that he is full of imperfections; would fain be the object of the love and esteem of men, and sees that his faults merit only their aversion and contempt. The embarrassment wherein he finds himself produces in him the most unjust and criminal passions imaginable, for he conceives a mortal hatred against that truth which blames him and convinces him of his faults.”

-PASCAL, Pensées

Wow, that is just brilliant. How’d you ever come up with the idea to use Google trends to shed some light on this?

It sort of goes along with the hypothesis that homophobic men are aroused by gay porn. In fact, this is no longer just a hypothesis, there is now a study that provides solid evidence to support the theory. Research finally proven what many of us knew, or at least suspected, all along – that homophobes indeed are turned on by gay porn. Read the article at Psychology Today – it’s quite interesting.

This article fits right in with what you’re saying, and provides additional evidence that what you are saying is indeed true.

As Steven Guilbeault of Greenpeace explained, "global warming can mean colder, it can mean drier, it can mean wetter." No set of facts can disprove the environmentalists’ secular religion. In 2004, former vice president Al Gore gave a speech on global warming in New York City on the coldest day of the year. Warm trends prove global warming. Cold trends also prove global warming. This is the philosophy of a madman!

Global warming — coming in a thousand years to a planet near you!

Don’t even give it the benefit of calling it "science"…it is more like a crackpot theory, a flat out lie, or at best, pseudoscience. Notice how the impending climate armageddon keeps changing with the left as time goes on…in the 70′s it was global cooling, then in the 90′s it was global warming, now it is the ever-so-convenient catch-all "climate change". Oh how clever. What a nice way to manipulate people…by scaring them with gross exaggerations…kind of like the latest "Medi-scare" rhetoric. It is all the far-left has.

Hello Yahoo’s
Soo the argument is..are humans causing it or are natural causes…
Side one
Yes…because the population has grown and…

No..there have been climate changes before we had a big population..and something about the younger dyras thing

I am writing a persuasive essay and I have no idea which one to choose….please back your reasons up with additional info…Thanks…due tomorrow and I haven’t even started..this is going to be a long night
In any case thank you:)

Redhawk basically states that the climate has changed in the past therefor the current climate change is not due to human emissions. This is a completely rediculous argument. Thats like saying something like people died before there were guns therefor guns can not kill people. He also states that CO2 content has been higher in the past therefor man can not be responsible for the CO2 content in the present. Another insane argument. Greenhouse gases are not the only forcing for a warmer climate and there are natural ways the planet increases the carbon dioxide in the atmosphere. These are the same types of argument you’ll hear from people who deny anthropogenic climate change. They are completely baseless and have absolutely no scientific backing at all. These are the argument of people that do not look deeper into the problem but only stay at the surface.

The surface of the planet is warming

http://web4.cns.utexas.edu/communications/File/AnnRev_CCimpacts2006.pdf

http://www.ibcperu.org/doc/isis/7076.pdf

http://www.inscc.utah.edu/~reichler/publications/papers/Lu_Deser_Reichler_2009.pdf

The warming is due to an increasing greenhouse effect

http://www.knmi.nl/publications/fulltexts/2005jd0062903.pdf

http://journals.ametsoc.org/doi/pdf/10.1175/JCLI4204.1

http://www.agu.org/pubs/crossref/2009/2009JD011800.shtml

http://www.ann-geophys.net/16/1501/1998/angeo-16-1501-1998.pdf

And human emissions are primarily to blame

http://scrippsco2.ucsd.edu/publications/sioref4_2001.pdf

http://www.bu-eh.org/uploads/Main/doney_ann_rev_proof.pdf

And don’t be misled by Eric K as he is listing gases that are not even greenhouse gases. The greenhouse effect keeps the planet 33C warmer than it would be without it. This 33C is due to greenhouse gases which make up less than 2% of the entire atmosphere most of which is water vapour which is dependent on temperature and can not be the cause of warming. He is attempting to manipulate you by comparing CO2 to gases that aren’t even part of this greenhouse effect.

edit for JimZ: What percentage, with reliable peer reviewed sources, do you think humans are responsible for? I never stated that all the global warming was due to humans. I did state that all the global warming due to CO2 was due to human contribution. There is also warming due to methane releases, both natural and man-made, there are natural feedbacks that are the result of warming both man-induced and natural, etc… If you are talking about me you seem to be putting words in my mouth once again. You want to talk about science? Try reading the peer reviewed publications I’ve posted. You provide absolutely zero evidence for what you believe is causing the warming. Instead of crying that you personal beliefs are being stepped on how about providing some scientific evidence?

Edit for eric: Water vapour is included in that less than 2%. Exactly how much water vapour do you think is in the atmosphere? Water vapour is not a gas? I really have no idea what you’re talking about and it seems as if you don’t either.

*Sharing is a quality that is diminished in modern society today, as the population increases, resources shrinking, we tend to be over-competitive in the pursuit of wealth and knowledge. But when you are 35, look back into the past, you’ll find that your selfishness has not only put you in a compromised and disadvantageous position, but because of the cyclical society and symbiotic relationship between all humans, you’re harming everyone. Brainstorm hard, but SHARE. Make life more pleasant for everyone "

in my opinion the greatest trend is the move towards social networking, it impacts every aspect of our lives.
