China stock market fears – 23 Jan 08

The interest rate cut in the US on Tuesday gave Shanghai’s composite index only a brief boost in early trade.

It gained more than 3 per cent before quickly retreating.

China’s market is tightly regulated, so regional market trends do not always have an effect on domestic trends.
